When I use the tutorial-5-cameracontrol example, the phone allows me to take a picture (and save it) by touch, but the second time I press for a picture the app crashes each and every time... I haven't modified anything, is this a problem a lot of users experience or just me?

can you explain a bit deeper, what went wrong ? did it log errors, stacktraces, or such ?

03-01 12:41:40.930: A/libc(3374): Fatal signal 6 (SIGABRT) at 0x0000015f (code=0) This is the only error I get and then the application freezes.

It looks like a bug in sample or some platform feature (some of devices does not apply color filters). I recommend you to create a ticket on OpenCV bug tracker. Please attach full logcat log and write device name and Android version.
