can you switch out xml files facedetection object recognition

I was wondering if i could use the face detection code and switch out the xml file with a trained xml file for object recognition?

the objects i am trying to detect are bottles.

yes you can you that. here you can see a code for oject detection. just replace the xml file with your xml.
