Can I use openCV to process images from a microscope

I'm currently working with on an experiment where we are trying to read microscope slides using computer vision. Can this library help me in this process?

If you want real time analysis you have to check if your camera is opencv compatible. An old list is here https://web.archive.org/web/201208151...
