minimum system requirements for OpenCV

With the advent of systems like the Arduino Yun, BeagleBone Black & Raspberry Pi, I am interested in knowing about whether useful work in computer vision can be done on those kinds of platforms, using OpenCV. Developing an app on another system & then deploying it to a small-form-factor unit is assumed.

As I know Raspberry Pi is popular among developers and I know some applications of Raspberry Pi as embedded device with CV software. But I think it is to slow for computationally hard algorithms.
