Selecting CUDA enabled GPU for Opencv.

asked 2013-10-04 00:20:05 -0600

Hello I am thinking to use a GPU for obvious reasons in my next project. I have a budget of around 300$ for the GPU. Which GPU should I select? What should be my parameters of selection? Doing some basic search, I found GTX660 to be use-full. Should I go for it? It is available for 2994 : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-gtx-660-ti-2gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card/6208848.p?id=1218720725742&skuId=6208848

Hi, I would have a look at this site from nVidia:

https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus

With your available budget, I would buy the card with as many "cuda cores" as available and the highest compute capability. Besides, heat and noise may be also important for your work environment... Johannes
