How can I reconnect the unconnected lines in a signature using dilation or any other filters?

I'm new to python and openCV. I'm trying to reconnect the parts of the signature that are not connected to the rest of the signature (the part having the red circle). How can I reconnect them with dilation or any other possible method? signature image having unconnected lines
