Capture images from ADVC-55 on FireWire port

Hey guys,

Here is my story: Found an old VTV VT813C camera and would like to use it in a small project of mine. Since is an analogic camera, I am using ADVC-55 to capture the images from the camera. The ADVC-55 uses the Firewire port to comunicate with my laptop (SONY VAIO VGN-FW270J).

I have checked tons of methods to acomplish it, but since I'm a newby I may be screwing up somwhere.

Can anybody please help me with a sample code for capturing the images from the Firewire port and display it with opencv? (currently using 2.4.6 version in visual studio 2012 on a windows 8 x64)

PS. Just for the record, I am able to see the camera image through STOIK Capturer, so the camera and ADVC 55 are ok!
