Determinate speed of car from video

I have a camera on the board of the car and I want to determinate the speed of car from video.

I think at how mark an element in a frame and determinate future position in next frame but I don't have idea about how I can do that.

What is a direction for that, any advice?

This is not possible. Visual odometry is only accurate up to scale so you will need additional information like an object with known size. This fact gets more intuitive if you think about adding a camera to a toy car that is driving through a toy city. The images will look the same as in the real world.
