Detection of electronic components on circuit board

Hello,

please accept my apology that I might ask a rather dumb question. I've flipped through the features of OpenCV to see whether it might be possible to count electronic components on a circuit board and identify them if possible.

My impression is that it should be possible to do so. Which book would you recommend if you had to walk into that direction and get an idea of openCV to do such a thing? Maybe you know a project where you could get some insights etc.
