3d reconstruction of highly reflective surface
Any method is suitable for 3D reconstruction of metal surface without coating it with opaque powder.
You could measure with a laser - reflecting is good there actually.
Active stereo - didn't though about it - but yes sound waves can also be reflected for measurement puprposes.Sounds good to me (Pun intended). You see - highly reflective surface mustn't be a bad thing. But this is not really related to opencv and is more like common sense on how to use a sensor.

Sinusoidal pattern or Active Stereo could be used?
